About NAWIC NOVA - Chapter 393

Building Stronger Women. Building a Stronger Industry.

NAWIC Northern Virginia (NOVA) was proudly chartered in 2021 as part of the Northeast Region of the National Association of Women in Construction. Though relatively young, our chapter was founded by a group of dedicated women who recognized a need for strong, localized support for women working in all areas of the construction industry across Northern Virginia. United by a shared vision of empowerment, growth, and inclusion, NAWIC NOVA quickly became a hub for professional women looking to connect, learn, and lead within the construction field.

Our chapter represents a diverse and dynamic group of members including project managers, engineers, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, estimators, administrators, safety professionals, and skilled tradeswomen. We welcome women at all stages of their careers—from students and apprentices to seasoned leaders—fostering a multi-generational exchange of ideas, experiences, and mentorship.

We are more than just a professional association—we are a community. At our core, we are committed to:

  • Empowering women to succeed through mentorship, leadership training, and career development.

  • Fostering connection through networking events, jobsite tours, workshops, and social gatherings.

  • Promoting education and outreach, including partnerships with local schools, apprenticeship programs, and STEM initiatives to build the pipeline of future women in construction.

  • Advocating for inclusion and equity across all roles and levels within the construction industry.

Since our founding, NAWIC NOVA has become a recognized voice for women in construction in Northern Virginia. We are proud to be part of a nationwide network of 120+ chapters, all working together to create lasting change in our industry.

Whether you're looking for support, inspiration, education, or just a seat at the table—you’ll find it here.
